The Manu cultural zone is one of the three zones of Manu National Park that covers the high mountains, mountain mesophyll forest and lowland rainforest. In this zone there are small villages, settlers and native communities that work in productive activities such as agriculture and timber on a low scale, as these activities are controlled by the Ministry of Agriculture and Manu National Park authorities (SERNANP). The Manu Cultural Zone has a cloud forest that is currently one of the areas in the world where wildlife still lives in abundance in its natural habitat where 8,000 species of plants, more than 400 species of birds and 10 species of mammals have been identified in the Manu cloud forest.
